John Morris Takes First Place at Lake Taneycomo

From Division 64 in Missouri on August 11th, 2012 - John Morris is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a first place win worth 281.00 dollars in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Table Rock Lake this past weekend. John’s weighed in five fish weighed in at 10.51 pounds. A close second place went to Max Ray with a weight of 10.35 pounds. Joe Hreha followed in third place with a weight of 9.43 pounds. Big bass was awarded was to Max Ray for catching a 4.46 pound largemouth bass.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth to the two-day division championship and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall. Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

Conditions: A beautiful day on Taneycomo, clear skies, a light breeze. The water was cold and clear by the dam and stained up towards Branson Landing.

Winning Strategy: John used his years of fishing this lake to find his fish along the main river channel. He used buzz baits, swimming frogs and a black jig to catch the winning weight.

Next Divisional Tournament: This division’s next tournament will be Sept 1, 2012 on Lake Taneycomo out of Empire Park ramp.
