ABA Members Head for the Potomac
Indian Head, MD, Division Number 11 of the American Fishing tour heads to the Potomac River this weekend. Potomac’s top water bite is lasting longer in the morning with these cooler nights and higher tides. These anglers will be competing for two days in the Division Championship on August 18 & 19 for cash awards and the Division Angler of the Year title. Along with the Division Angler of the Year title will be a special invitation to compete on Lake Hudson, OK for a winner takes all TR21XS with 200 Mercury Pro XS Outboard,
Carlisle Tires and Wheels, ODYSSEY Batteries, Royal Purple Oil and MotorGuide Trolling Motor. Launching out of Smallwood State Park these anglers are fishing for both cash and points. The points help the anglers to qualify the American Fishing Tour National Championship.
There is a lot at stake for the Division 11 weekend anglers. One angler from division 11 will advance the Angler of the Year Final Round. The top angler from each division that has fished 4 one-day and a two-day in that division will get a one-day practice, one-day tournament shot at fully loaded Triton/Mercury Boat Package in October. The final battle is on!

Anglers can register onsite at the event between 5:00 and 6:00 AM. There will be a safety and pairing briefing and launch will be just after registration close. Check-in will be at 3:00 PM at the “T” Dock. Pairing for Day-2 will be conducted following Day-1 weigh-in. Order of launch for Day-2 will be reversed of Day-1 launch. So if you were #1 on Day-1, you are last out on Day-2. No briefing or sign-in for Day-2 means no delay for the launch. We all get there early and we all launch out early.

The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points.
