Scott King Takes First Place at St Johns River South

From Florida Division 106 at St Johns River South, June 2, 2012  -  Scott King from Crescent City, FL is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a first place win and $303 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on St Johns River South this past weekend. Scott’s 5 bass limit weighed in at 22.41 pounds. Second place went to Peter Ferrentino with a weight of 14.92 pounds. And following in third place was Randall Hutcherson with a weight of 14.43 pounds. Big bass was awarded to Scott King with his 9.20 pound largemouth.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall. Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

The top five anglers were:
1. Scott King                   22.41 Lbs.
2. Peter Ferrentino         14.92 Lbs.
3. Randall Hutcherson   14.43 Lbs.
4. Bill Yell                        11.94 Lbs.
5. Doug Sarver               11.60 Lbs.

Conditions: Very Windy, also very hot in the mid 90’s

Winning Strategy: Scott fished shallow all day working weed lines with spinner baits. Fish were chasing bait just off the weed line and the spinner bait convinced the bigger fish to hit. Scott’s big bass came around 10.00 o’clock

Next Divisional Tournament: Division 106 out of Midway Marina in Astor Florida on July 7th and 8th. It’s our two dayer. Double entry fee, double pay out and double the points
