Bob Mindock Takes First Place at Mississippi River Pool 12

From Division Iowa East. June 3, 2012  -  Bob Mindock from Illinois City, Illinois is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a first place win and $338 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Mississippi River this past weekend. Mindock’s 5 bass limit weighed in at 10.10 pounds. Second place went to Tony Stoffers with a weight of 8 pounds even. And following in third place was Rocco Marrari with a weight of 5.03. Big bass was awarded was to Marrari for catching a 3.21 pound largemouth.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall. Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

The top five anglers were:
1. Bob Mindock     10.10 Lbs.
2. Tony Stoffers     8.00 Lbs.
3. Rocco Marrari     5.03 Lbs.
4. Chris Yuska       4.66 Lbs.
5. Bob Peck            4.26 Lbs.

Conditions: Heavy rains to the north have the river rising 6 inches a day. Water is muddy with the water temps 70 

Winning Strategy: Bob used a worm and jig fished extremely slow in a back water area in 5-10 feet of water.

Next Divisional Tournament: This division’s next tournament will be June 24th on Mississippi River Pool 17 at Muscatine
