Glenn Harrison Wins on Stockton

Glenn Harrison Wins on Stockton

Bright sunny skies, very little wind and warming temperatures of 82 degrees were the dominating factors for American Bass Anglers competitors June 2, 2012 on Stockton Lake. These conditions followed a cool day with overcast skies and temperatures ranging from 48˚ to 69˚ and pushed anglers to try every trick they could to catch bass.

Only three anglers were able to catch a five-fish limit. Glenn Harrison of Arma, KS topped the field with 11.71lb. Second place went to Farlington, KS angler, Mark Moody with a 9.24lb bag of fish. Scott Tassi, also of Arma, KS took third with 9lb. All three of these winners reported that the fishing was very slow and these are the guys who usually report catching three or four limits.

There is a lot on the line for these anglers as the D126 season draws to a close. There is one remaining 1-day tournament, July 14, 2012 and the 2-day Championship August 18-19, 2012. After these events D126 will announce the D126 Angler of the Year and the D126 Champion of the Year. There will be awards for both of these honors.

The AOY will be invited to a 1-day entry-free  “Fish-Off” at a yet to be announced location; he will be fishing against 40-50 other AOY’s from other divisions all across the country. Winner of the “Fish-off” will take home a fully rigged Triton Bass Boat.

All of the participants are fishing for cash, prizes and the right to enter the ABA National Championship which will be held October 24-26, 2012 on Grand Lake of the Cherokees in Oklahoma. Five hundred anglers from across the country will be invited to enter the championship. The winner of this tournament will also take home a fully rigged Triton Bass Boat.

The next D126 tournament is scheduled July 14, 2012 using Old State Park Ramp as the launch site. View complete results with pictures at www.centralmidwestbass.com. Watch for more information about local  ABA tournaments in the El Dorado Springs Sun and the Cedar County Republican.

Local sponsor prizes were given out including product and gift certificates from Rogers Hunting, Fishing & Archery, www.theoutboarddoctor.com, Albers Marine, www.mobassfishin.com and Happy O’s Resort.

Anglers compete for cash, prizes and points which qualify them to fish a 2-day Championship on Stockton  August 18-19, 2012 and a National Championship on Grand Lake of the Cherokees October 24-26, 2012.

The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship.
