Mike Blaesi Takes First Place at Mississippi River Pool 14

From Division Iowa East, May 6,2012 - Mike Blaesi from Dixon,Iowa is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a first place win and $224.00 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Mississippi River this past weekend. Mike’s 5 bass limit weighed in at 13.24 pounds. Second place went to Bob Peck with a weight of 12.25. And third place was Dorsey Lane with a weight of 11.35 pounds. Big bass was awarded was to Dorsey Lane for catching a 3.56 pound large mouth.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall. Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

1. Mike Blaesi            13.24 Lbs.
2. Bob Peck               12.25 Lbs.
3. Dorsey Lane         11.35 Lbs.
4. Bob Edwards        10.94 Lbs.
5. Becky Marrari          9.43 Lbs.

Conditions: Water temps 68-70. Water stained and rising.

Winning Strategy: Mike using a buzz bait, lizard and spinner bait located spawning fish in a back water lake

This division’s next tournament will be June 3 on Pool 12 at Spruce Creek, Bellevue, Iowa
