Larry Mongeon Wins on Buffumville Lake ATHENS, Ala. – Larry won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Massachusetts Division 97 tournament held on May, 19 2012, at Buffumville Lake.
The Brimfield, MA angler caught 5 bass weighing 13 pounds with a 6.62-pound kicker. For the victory, Larry took home a check for $447, which included $65 for big bass. Larry caught his fish mostly bed fishing with finesse baits. In second among the competitors, Sean Lloyd of Springfield, Ma, caught 5 bass weighing 12.59 pounds with a 5.33 pound kicker. Mike Blaesi Wins On Lake Geode ATHENS, AL – Mike Blaesi won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Iowa East, Division 73 tournament, held May 12, 2013, on Lake Geode.
Running out of Lake Geode, the Dixon angler caught a three bass limit weighing 16.46 pounds with an 8.27-pound kicker. For the victory, Mike took home a check for $299. Blaesi caught his fish on spinner baits and plastics. In second among the competitors, Bob Peck, of Montpelier, caught three bass weighing 13.64 pounds with a 6.14-pound kicker. Todd Rose Wins On Lake Lillinonah ATHENS, AL – Todd Rose won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Connecticut Division 6 tournament, held May, 18, 2013, on Lake Lillinonah.
Running out of the State landing near Bridgewater, the Stafford Springs, Connecticut, angler caught 5 bass weighing 11.23 pounds with a 3.03-pound kicker. For the victory, Todd took home a check for $264. Todd caught his fish on topwater presentations early in the morning and then changed to hair jigs and bedding fish later on in the day. In second among the competitors, Tom Dupuis of Terryville, Connecticut, caught 5 bass weighing 10.47 pounds with a 3.17-pound kicker. He caught his fish on topwaters and crankbaits. Mike Piccolo Wins on the North East River From Pennsylvania Division 9, May 19, 2013 - Mike Piccolo wins Division 9 AFT tournament again on the North East River. Running out of Anchor Marina in Maryland, he caught five bass weighing 21.19 pounds.
In second among these AFT competitors, Wayne Alker caught five bass weighing 19.31 pounds. Taking third place, Scott McDonough caught five bass weighing 19.01 pounds. In fourth place, Rick DiIenno caught five bass weighing 18.71 pounds. Rich Przybyl rounded out the top five competitors with five bass weighing 15.81 pounds. Ti Takes First On Keystone From AFT Division 122 Oklahoma, May 18, 2013 – Ti Le won this division one-day event on Keystone Lake, running out of Prairie Creek Landing near Tulsa. The Broken Arrow angler brought in a five fish limit weighing 14.73 pounds with a 3.95 pound kicker. For the victory, Ti Le took home a check for $405. Ti caught his fish on finesse baits.
In second among the competitors, Division 122 Angler-of-the-Year points leader Bryan Klinger caught 14 pounds, including the Big Bass of the day of 4.48 pounds. Bryan caught his fish drop-shotting pre-spawn bass and pocketed a check for $308. Taking third place was Steve Larue of El Dorado, Kansas with 12.89 pounds which netted him a check of $71.00. Carl Cox Wins at Stockton Lake
Some of the area’s best bass fishermen gathered at Stockton Lake’s Old State Park May 19 to test their skills against each other and the bass. Changing weather patterns coupled with the changing lake level gave the fishermen a challenge. Aldrich angler, Carl Cox topped the leader board with a five fish limit the weighed 10.91lbs anchored with Big Fish of the day, a 3.78 lb largemouth. Jay Carter of Springfield was a close 2nd with 10.55 lbs, followed by 3rd place winner, Austin Morris of Joplin with 10.05 lbs. Anglers reported using a variety of baits, including crank baits, spinnerbaits, and soft plastic. Newhouse Takes First on Gaston ATHENS, AL – Carlton Newhouse won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Virginia Division 3 tournament, held April 13, 2013, on Lake Gaston Running out of Holly Grove Marina landing near Bracey, VA, the North Carolina, Carlton caught five bass weighing 18.12 pounds with a 6.59 pound kicker. For the victory, Newhouse took home a check for $303. Newhouse caught his fish on Texas Rigged soft plastics In second among the competitors, James Funk, of Virginia, caught five bass weighing 11.91 pounds and pocketed a check for $137. Mike Roselle Wins on the Potomac Marbury, MD – Mike Roselle won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Maryland Division 11 tournament, held May 11, 2013 on the Potomac River.
Running out of Smallwood State Park the Laplata, MD angler caught bass weighing 14.93 pounds with a 3.48-pound kicker to taking Big Bass. For the victory, Mike took home first place and Big Bass pots. Mike caught his fish by throwing finesse worms into clumps of grass in 2 – 3 feet of water (a popular strategy on the Potomac), on a windy Virginia creek point. Rob Lawhon Takes First Place at Lake Talquin From Division 76 Talquin May 11, 2013 Rob Lawhon from Quincy, Florida is one step closer to the American Fishing Tour National Championship with a first place win and $480 in the American Fishing Tour Divisional Bass Tournament held on Lake Talquin this past weekend. Rob’s five bass weighed in at 28.81 pounds. Second Place went to Titus Landston with a weight of 15.06 pounds. Third Place was Kyle Brooks with a weight of 10.98 pounds. Eric Cabrera Makes it Two in a Row in Division 30 From Southeast Tennessee Division 30, May 11, 2013 – Eric Cabrera, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, fishing on Lake Chickamauga out of Chester Frost Park, won his second consecutive Division 30 event by catching five fish which weighed-in at 20.31 pounds anchored by a 6.24 pound largemouth. Eric collected $360 for the win with an additional $60 for big fish. He is now one step closer to the ABA National Championship. Second place went to Kenny Kempka with a weight of 17.98 pounds. And third place was Gary Carter with a weight of 13.96 pounds.

Division 31 tournament, held 05/12/2013, on Old Hickory Lake. Running out of Bull Creek landing near Gallatin, Tennessee, the Clarksville angler caught 5 bass weighing 13.35 pounds. For the victory, Matt took home a check for $281 along with a 5.40 pound kicker for big fish for the tournament.

Billy Barrett Takes First on Long Pond From Division 5, New England East, on May 5, 2013 – Billy Barrett of Bridgewater, MA is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a first place win and $650 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Long Pond in Harwich, Massachusetts this past weekend. Billy’s five bass limit weighed-in at 17.51 pounds. Second place went to Toby Slagle with a weight of 17.46 pounds, third place was Mike Wolfenden with a weight of 17.31 pounds. Big bass was awarded to Toby Slagle for catching a 4.40 pound smallmouth bass and he pocketed $165 for this impressive fish.

Britton Anderson Takes First Place at Perry ATHENS, AL - Britton Anderson won the American Bass Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Kansas Division 66 April 21th 2013 on Perry Lake. Bryan Klinger Takes The Win On Sooner Bryan Klinger of Ponca City, Oklahoma emerged victorious from the Oklahoma Division 122 tournament held April 28th, 2013 on Sooner Lake. Strong winds were prevalent as the anglers fished the one-day event.
Klinger finished the day with a five fish limit which weighed a total of 24.43 pounds. Bryan also won the Big Bass of the day with a weight of 6.54 pounds, setting himself up for a $539 pay day. Ponca City angler Jeff Dobson secured second place with a five fish stringer that weighed-in at 20.32 pounds. Clint Brown Takes First Place at Lake Seminole From Division 114 Seminole April 28, 2013 Clint Brown from Bainbridge, Georgia is one step closer to the AFT National Championship with a first place win and $575 in the American Fishing Tour Divisional Bass Tournament held on Lake Seminole this past weekend. Clint’s five bass weighed in at 19.04 pounds.

Fahler and Minor Dominate Big Hill Event ATHENS, AL – Bryan Fahler won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Kansas Division 58 tournament, held April 27th, 2013 on Big Hill Lake.
Running out of Timber Hill landing near Parsons, the Independence, Kansas angler used a spinnerbait to catch a five fish limit of bass weighing 19.81 pounds including a 5.31 pound kicker that was the big bass of the tournament. For the victory, Fahler took home a check for $326. Becky Minor of Parsons, Ks had an impressive 16 pound limit to earn second place in the tourney. She reported catching all of her fish on a Gene Larew Salty Slugger using an Eagle Claw Trokar 4/0 hook. She was also in the mid-lake region. “Bryan and I were fishing less than 200 yards from each other a good part of the day. Bill Lee Wins First On Old Hickory Lake From Tennessee Division 31, April 28, 2013, on Old Hickory Lake – Running out of Bull Creek landing near Gallatin, Tennessee, the Portland, Tennessee angler caught 4 bass weighing 6.40 pounds. For the victory, Bill took home a check for $264.
Second place went to Fred Needham with a weight of 5.30 pounds and Big Fish weighing 2.10 pounds. Third place was captured by Carl Pope with 1.85 pounds. With two days of rain, the water was up into the parking lot and a very chocolate color everybody was looking for clear water for this tournament. Kevin Fulmer Takes Another Win on Lake Murray ATHENS, AL – Kevin Fulmer of Prosperity, SC won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, South Carolina Division 96 1-day qualifier tournament, held April 28, 2013, on Lake Murray, running out of Dreher Island State Park near Prosperity, SC.
Kevin has now won 2 in a row on Lake Murray. He caught 5 bass weighing 20.80 pounds and took home a check for $597. Kevin fished the middle and lower parts of the lake with topwater baits and jigs. Glen’s three bass weighed in at 10.56 pounds. Second place went to Kevin Arbaugh with a weight of 10.18 pounds. And in third place was Matt Bennett with a weight of 7.73 pounds. Jim Banks Takes First on Stockton Lake Stockton, MO – Jim Banks, won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Missouri Division 126 tournament, held April 21, 2013, on Stockton Lake.
Running out of Hawker Point landing, the Lamar, Missouri angler caught five bass weighing 12.75 pounds with a 5.43 pound kicker which also took Big Bass honors. For the victory, Banks took home a total of $339. Banks reported catching his fish by dragging a jig in somewhat stained water. In second among the competitors, Glenn Harrison of Arma, Kansas caught four bass weighing 9.12 pounds with a 3.95 pound kicker. Charles Boyte Wins on Lake Wateree ATHENS, AL – Charles Boyte of Columbia, South Carolina won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, South Carolina Division 96 one-day qualifier tournament, held April 21, 2013, on Lake Wateree, running out of Clearwater Cove near Camden, SC.
Charles caught five bass weighing 13.24 pounds and took home a check for $382. He caught his fish by flipping in the backs of coves on the lower part of the lake. In second place of these AFT competitors was Phil Morris, of Saluda, South Carolina, hauling in three bass weighing 7.83 pounds and taking home a check for $240. Eric Cabrera Takes Home the Win and Big Fish at Nickajack From Southeast Tennessee Division 30, April 20, 2013 – Eric Cabrera from Chattanooga, Tennessee has had quite a bit of success as a Bassmaster Weekend series non-boater. Saturday he used that experience a boater to earn his first ever AFT win by catching five fish that weighed in at 14.22 pounds, anchored by a 4.40 pound largemouth. Kelly Weber Wins on Potomac River ATHENS, AL – Kelly Weber won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, Maryland Division 11 tournament, held April 13, 2013, on the Potomac River.
Running out of Smallwood State Park the California, Maryland angler caught five bass weighing 17.43 pounds, which included 5.86 pound kicker.
