From Division 1 Couples Central Alabama DATE July 10, 2010 is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $315 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on  Lake Mitchell this past weekend.  Four bass limit weighed in at 7.09. Second place went to Sean & Michelle Brown with a weight of 5.86. Woman’s big bass was awarded to Diane Hill for catching a 2.92 pound large mouth. Men’s big bass went to Sean Brown with a 2.47 large mouth.

Chapman Makes Guest Appearance At Big Hill Lake Event

B.A.S.S. Elite Series  Angler and Trokar Lazer Hooks Pro, Brent Chapman will be attending the American Fishing Tour Division 58 2-Day Championship at Big Hill Lake in Southeast Kansas. Activities begin Friday evening, August 27, at the Parsons Sirloin Stockade where anglers can register for the tournament. Competition is all day Saturday and Sunday, August 28 and 29. Thirty to 40 anglers from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma are expected to attend.

Maryland Division 11 Championship, August 21 & 22, 2010, John Hutchins from Warrenton, VA. took first place with a 2-day total weight of 30.74 lbs. and $976 for his efforts. Along with his win, John finished the season with 1199 points to earn Division 11’s” Angler of the Year” and an invitation to fish the ABA National Angler of the Year event as well as the ABA National Championship in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament to be held on Kentucky Lake later this year.

From Iowa East, August 14 and 15th - Bob Peck from Montepieler, IA  is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a first place win and $518 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Pool 12 this past weekend. Pecks’ bass weighed in at 13.82 lbs. Second place went to Randy Price with a weight of 9.23. Third place was Tony Stoffer with a weight of 6.18. Big bass was awarded was to Peck both days for catching a 2.75 and 3.13 lbs. largemouth. From Division 35, 8/7-8/10......Steve Culler from Butler, IN is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a first place win in the American Fishing Tour  District 35 Championship bass tournament held on Lake Wawasee this past weekend. Steve weighed 7 bass for 16.21 lbs., and had Big Bass for the tournament with a 3.82 lbs. bucketmouth. Second place went to Nathan Schmucker, who weighed 9 bass for 14.28 lbs., third place was Mike Elsea with a weight of 11.68 lbs. Mike’s 3rd place finish was enough for him to capture the D35 Angler of the Year and a spot in the AOY Final Round.

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) August 7-8, 2010 Michael Vining from Woburn, Massachusetts is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $392 at the American Fishing Tour 2-day division championship bass tournament held on Northwood and Bow Lakes this past weekend. Mike’s 2 day of 10 bass weighed in at 37.00 pounds. Mike set the stage for his win with an impressive 20.52 pounds on day one and then followed it up with 16.48 pounds on day two. Second place went to Don Mayer with a weight of 18.66 pounds and in third place was Warren Mills with a weight of 17.66 pounds. Big bass was awarded was to Michael Vining for catching a 6.09 pound largemouth on day 1 at Northwood. Dan Jones caught a 2.36 pound smallmouth to win the split lunker.

Marc Leone Takes First Place at Potomac River

From Division 11, Marc Leone from Rohrersville, MD Takes 1st Place win and $502 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on the Potomac River Saturday August 7, 2010. Marc’s 5 fish limit weighed in at 11.43 lbs. Though the weather was cooler with mid 80’s and water temps about the same, it was a tuff day fishing for all. But Marc was able to target bass on the main river grass edges with a swim jig, culling several times to up his weight. Shawn Ezerski finished in Second place with a limit that weighed 10.02 lbs. and earning a $298 payday. Third place was Rick Chenoweth with a weight of 8.92 lbs. and took $97. Big bass was awarded was to Kevin Bell with a 3.93 pound largemouth.

From Division 5 New England East on July, 11, 2010 Jimmy Cook from  Taunton, MA is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $849.00 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Long Pond, Freetown, MA this past weekend. Jimmy’s 5 bass limit weighed in at 12.75 lbs. Second place went to Rich LaChance with a weight of 12.19 lbs.; third place was Gary Joy with a weight of 10.60 lbs. Big bass was awarded to Jimmy Cook for catching a 3.58 lbs. largemouth. These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in the division’s two-day championship and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall.  Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

Mark Allan Sipos Takes First Place on the Potomac River

From Division 11, Maryland, July 10, 2010, Mark Sipos from Lexington Park, MD has done it again, moving himself closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $650.00 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on the Potomac River. Mark's 5 bass limit tipped the scale at 18.26 lbs. Mark's approach to his catch, as he puts it, was an emergency pattern. Mark decided to fish the front ends of two creeks due to the rain muddying up the main river. Pitching soft plastics to pockets of grass in clear to cloudy grass he was able to limit early. But as the tide fell the bite got bigger and Mark was still culling 7 minutes prior to the check-in time.

Bob Peck Takes First at Mississippi River Pool 18

From Division Iowa East 7/11/10 – Bob Peck, of Montpelier, IA, is one step closer to the AFT National Championship with a first place win and $259.00 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Mississippi River Lake this past weekend .  Peck’s 3 bass weighed-in at 6.79 lbs. Second place went to Tony Stoffers with a weight of 3.48 lbs. Third place was Chris Yuska with a weight of 2.95. Big bass of the tournament was awarded was to Peck for his 3.49 pound largemouth.

Garry Woodruff Takes First Place at Northwood

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) July 3, 2010 Garry Woodruff from Candia, New Hampshire is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $303 at the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Northwood Lake this past weekend. Garry’s 5 bass limit weighed in at 12.88 pounds. Second place went to Scott Leavitt with a weight of 10.51 pounds and in third place was Warren Mills with a weight of 9.95 pounds. Big bass was awarded was to Garry Woodruff for catching a 4.08 pound largemouth.

Dorsey Lane Takes First Place at  Mississippi River Pool 17

From Division 073 DATE 6-27-10 Dorsey Lane from Muscatine Iowa is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $224.00 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Mississippi River this past weekend .  Lane’s 4 bass weighed in at 11.02. Second place went to Randy Price with a weight of 4.97, third place was Tony Stoffers with a weight of 1.62 Big bass was awarded was to Dorsey Lane for catching a 3.88 pound large mouth.

Scott Randall Takes First Place at Potomac River

From Division 11, Maryland, Scott Randall from King George, VA has stepped closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $598.00 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on the Potomac River on September 27, 2010.  Scott blew the competition away with a 19.13 lb. 5 bass limit weighed in at. This was extraordinary due to the temperature hovering around 97 degrees with a heat index of 105 degrees. Scott threw a senko of a secret color to the edge of grass, both on the main river and creeks to eventually culling to his final weight. With the sun bearing down all day and water temperature running 87 degrees he found his bass were hunkering down under the cover of the thick Potomac grass mats. Properly placing that senko at the openings in the grass enticed the bass to come out to eat.

Back to Back Wins for Rusty Burroughs

From Division 88, Alabama East/Central  Rusty Burroughs is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with another 1st Place win in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Lake Weiss this past weekend.  Rusty’s five bass limit weighed in at 15.11 pounds.  Big bass was awarded to Joel Caves for catching a 5.64 pound largemouth.  Rusty was the 2009 Angler of the year and has put himself in a very good position compete for another new triton boat this year.
