ABA Crowns Inaugural BBQ Tour Champions!
After being called out in 2nd place in every meat category, the team of Bob Fite and Steve Blake- otherwise known as Jiggy Piggy, was named the Grand Champions at the inaugural BBQ event of the American Bass Anglers BBQ Tour Sponsored by Early Times Kentucky Whisky. The duo, who hail from Decatur, Alabama, heard their team name called in every category of competition including a 3rd place finish in the ‘sauce’ category and the winner of the dessert category.
“We are very excited over our win today with this being the inaugural event of the 5-city tour of the Early Times contest”, stated Steve Blake. “We have really been blessed. We’ve won a dozen or so Grand Championships and as many Reserve Grand Championships. At the American Royal Invitational in Kansas City we have been Reserve Grand and took 1st place in chicken. We‘ve won the Highway 64 Crown in Tennessee and the Alabama Governor’s Cup. But we wouldn’t compete at all if we didn’t have fun and meet all these nice people we enjoy hanging out with for the weekend. We plan to keep it up as long as we both have fun. And believe me, after working hard all weekend it is much more fun driving home with a trophy rather than trying to figure out what we need to change!”, Blake continued.
