HI-SEAS FLUOROCARBON LINE

By Cliff Pace, B.A.S.S. Elite Series Angler

I can remember when fluorocarbon lines first hit the shelf and everyone was amazed at it`s ability to be virtually invisible in water. This was without any question a great advancement when it comes to line technology. The only problem I had with the product was the fact that it kept breaking, and therefore costing me money. I can recall sitting in the parking lot of my hotel at a tournament wondering if the extra bites I could get with this invisible line was worth the number of fish I was going to lose throughout the day due to the line breaking. ..............

Cape Adjust on Stockton to Win

Stockton, MO...May 16, 2009...Brad Cape of Steelville, MO is one step closer to the Bassmaster Classic with his first place victory in the Missouri division earning $5,000 in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series bass tournament held on Stockton Lake.  Cape`s five bass limit weighed in at 16.65 pounds.  He made good use of his two days of practice prior to the tournament.  He was able to find two different patterns that would allow him to get bites on a regular basis.  One consisted of dirty water around shallow points; the other was a clear water pattern in the 8 ft - 10 ft range.  With a cold front pushing through during the tournament, Cape adjusted his game plan to start off throwing a buzzbait in the dirty water early which paid off big time when he landed the eventual big fish on the boater side when a 5.36 pound largemouth inhaled Cape`s buzzbait early in the morning.  As the dirty water pattern slowed, he went to his backup plan which was Carolina Rigging in 8 ft - 10 ft of water down by the dam.  That adjustment paid off as Cape finished his limit and also culled up three times to his winning weight.

Hurst Wins on Wheeler

Decatur, AL . . . May 9, 2009 . . . Tim Hurst of Oxford, AL is one step closer to the Bassmaster Classic with his first place victory in the Alabama North division earning $5,000 in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series bass tournament held on Lake Wheeler.  Hurst`s five bass limit weighed in at 21.46 pounds.  He started the day by swimming a BO’s swim jig through shallow grass, but did most of his damage during the heavy showers that seemed to turn the fish on.  When the storm subsided and the sun came out, the winner turned his attention to shallow bushes.  He managed to cull a few times in the afternoon flippin` a 3 1/8 oz BO’s flippin` jig.  Overall, Hurst said he caught approximately 15 keepers during the day.  Not too bad for a 1/2 day of practice.
