Gallagher wins $5000.00 on Grand Lake/St. Mary’s

ATHENS, Ala. – Darrell Gallagher of Maplewood, Ohio won the American Bass Anglers Open Series event held 6/2/2018 on Grand Lake/St. Mary’s. Running out of the West Bank in Celina, Ohio Gallagher weighed in a five-bass limit weighing 13.14-pounds. His catch was anchored by a bass weighing 3.61-pounds. Gallagher took home a check for $5000.00 for the win. 

“I flipped a jig all day. I figure I caught 20 keepers throughout the day,” said Gallagher. 

In second for the boaters Scott Manson of Covington, Ohio landed a five-bass limit weighing 11.54-pounds. 

“I caught my fish today flipping a jig. Most of my bites came early in the day. The bite slowed for me around midday,” said Manson.  

Tony Collins of Dayton, Ohio placed third with a five-bass limit weighing 10.65-pounds. 

“I caught around three limits today all on a spinnerbait and a brush hog. The bite slowed for me around midday,” said Collins.    

In fourth place for the boaters, Michael Nesbitt of St. Paris, Ohio, weighed in a five-bass limit weighing 10.64-pounds and rounding out the top five, Bob Logan of Waynesfield, Ohio weighed in a five-bass limit weighing 10.07-pounds.

William Redmond of Sciotoville Ohio took the boater big bass honors with a bass that weighed in at 3.75-pounds. Redmond collected $340.00 for the bass.

In the co-angler division Kevin Tangeman of Chickasaw, Ohio weighed in a three-bass limit weighing 7.95-pounds, anchored by a bass that weighed 4.40 pounds. Tangeman took home a check for $850.00 for the win and an additional $105.00 for weighing in the largest bass weighed in by a co-angler. Tangeman also had the big bass of the tournament and having caught his big fish using an ABU Garcia spinning reel he was awarded an ABU Garcia Revo reel valued at $160.00

“I caught six fish early. three keepers and three short. All my fish came on a worm,” said Tangeman. 

Taking second for the co-anglers, Chad Jackson of Indianapolis Indiana weighed in a three-bass co-angler limit weighing 6.01-pounds.

“I had three bites today flipping a creature bait,” said Jackson. 

Carter Mox of Minster, Ohio, placed third with a co-angler limit of three bass weighing
5.19-pounds. 

“I caught five keepers today, three flipping and two on a crankbait,” said Mox.

In fourth among the co-anglers, Robert Daily of Lake Station, IN, weighed in a three-bass limit weighing 4.91-pounds and rounding out the top five, Jake Pequignot of Celina, OH, weighed in three bass weighing 4.24-pounds.

Slated for July 14th the next Ohio division event will be held on the Ohio River
running out of Tanner’s Creek, in Lawrenceburg IN.
