Penn and Schroeder Take the win on Kentucky Lake

Sunday April 22, 2018 was a cold and rainy day for the ABA Triton 100% Plus Team Tour event that launched from Paris Landing located in Buchanan, Tennessee. The team of Penn and Schroeder was rewarded a 2018 Triton Tx17 powered by a 60hp Mercury four stroke with Garmin Echomap Plus93SV valued at $20,000. They also received a check for $1200 for first place in the High Stakes Option Pot.

“We made the run north around 65 miles we started flipping laydowns and throwing spinnerbaits around wood structure,” stated Penn.

The second-place team was Terry Chastain and Troy Galbreath, they weighed in a five-bass limit for a total of 27.74 pounds with a big fish weighing 7.23 pounds for the kicker. They were awarded $2850 dollars in prize money and very valuable points.

“We focused on deeper banks searching for the fish that were moving up to the shallows to spawn. Our main baits were a Strike King 4.0 crankbait a Strike King shaky head and a Holtz craw Jig, “stated Chastain and Galbreath.

Coming in third place was the team of Steve Floyd and Wyatt Floyd. They weighed in a five-bass limit locking in the scales at 26.90 pounds. They earned a check for $2000 dollars for their efforts.

“We decided to make a long 20 mile run to the south end of Kentucky lake flipping bushes with a Berkley Havoc pit boss and a ½ ounce green pumpkin flipping jig,” stated Floyd.”
