4/07/2018 Billy Graves To the Lead “I hit numerous spots the past couple of days on the Red River. I found a few of the spots holding schooling fish and that’s where I caught my smaller fish each day. After I caught my limit of the smaller ones I’d head out to open water to try and cull up. The wind kept me out of my open water today, so when I took first with only a little over five pounds I was shocked. Tomorrow I feel the fishing will be slow and I hope the wind dies down so I can fish the open water spots I found,” said Graves. Scott Dean of Terrell, TX is sitting in second place only ounce behind the leader. He brought in five fish limit giving him a three day total of 30.11 pounds. Tyler Rivet of Raceland, LA is sitting in third with a three-day total 29.25 pounds. The race to see who takes the co-angler title is a close on as well. A little over two pounds is separating the first and second place. Jared West Mont Belview, TX will be taking the lead on the co-angler side into Championship Sunday. He has a three-day total of 16.82 pounds. “I was fishing with soft plastics today. My boater ran south where I was able to catch a few fish. I did not fish to clean today, I missed three fish this morning,” stated West. David Simpson Jr of Gotham, FL is sitting in second with a three-day total of 14.31 pounds. James Dutton of Hemtill, TX is sitting in third with a three-day total of 14.04 pounds. Day 4 weigh in will begin at 3:00 pm Saturday April 8, 2018. We will crown a new Ray Scott Champion tomorrow.
