Jamey Black Wins on the Arkansas River

The final 1-day tournament of the ABA RAM American Fishing Tour D42 was held on 29 July 2017 in the Redfield Pool launching out of Tar Camp Park.  15 anglers came out and were greeted with nice mid-summer weather and a stronger river flow than expected.  Weather was great but the fishing was tough for most as only two 5-fish limits crossed the scales.

Jamey Black of Sheridan, AR topped the field with five fish for a total weight of 14.27 lbs.  Jamey threw a Black’s custom buzz bait and a variety of other baits to catch his fish.

Cletus Gartman of Redfield, AR only needed to sack up three fish to take second place with a total weight of 10.69 lbs.  He also caught the days Big Bass at 5.56 lbs.  Cletus caught his fish on a variety of soft plastic baits.

Rounding out the top three was Curtis Massey of England, AR who sacked up four fish for a total weight of 8.48 lbs. throwing a variety of soft plastic baits to fill his livewell.

These anglers are earning valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual Ram American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.
