Rick Holmberg of Bayport, NY won the RAM American Fishing Tour presented by American Bass Anglers, Connecticut Division 6 tournament, held on Candlewood Lake.

Running out of the State ramp landing near the town of New Fairfield, Connecticut, Holmberg caught 5 bass weighing 12.34 pounds. Included in Ricks bag was a 4.72 pound largemouth for the big fish of the day. This is the second time Rick has won at Candlewood this year.  This time Rick said, “I caught all of my fish by fishing a 1/8-ounce jig head attached to a small 2.3 inch keitech swimbait in about 10 to 15 feet of water.” For both categories, Rick took home $563.00 in cash.

In second among the competitors, new member Brad Holmes from Hudson, New York caught his limit of bass weighing 12.32 pounds.  Brad collected 268.00 for his efforts.

Taking third place, and fishing his second event of the year Chris Weber from Manorville, New York caught a limit of bass weighing12.02 pounds.  Chris said, “I caught my fish on the same methods and baits that Rick used in about the same area of the lake.”  He took home $86.00.

In fourth place Dave Cangro of Nesconset, New York caught a limit of bass for 11.27 pounds and current AOY leader Jared Trimboli from St James, New York rounded out the top five competitors with 9.54 pounds.
