Quest to Win Ray Scott Championship Begins Today
Athens, AL. – 312 Boaters and Co-Anglers who qualified through the 2016 Ram Truck Open Series will launch Friday morning on Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, TN for the first day of competition of the Ray Scott Championship.
These anglers have worked hard in the 2016 season to qualify for this event that is named for the man is credited for creating the sport of bass tournament fishing Ray Scott. These anglers will be competing in a Boater/Co-Angler format Friday and Saturday, all trying to make the final day cut to the top 25 who will compete Sunday the final day.
A massive cold front moved across the middle portion of the country Wednesday and Thursday with violent winds that forced the cancellation of and Day one of the event. Friday’s forecast is calling for cooler temps and it will still be a bit breezy as the winds will shift out of the northwest.
The Boater Champion will receive $50,000 cash, a $65,000 2017 Triton 21 TRX boat with a Mercury Marine 250 Pro XS outboard loaded with sponsor products plus a two-year lease of a new RAM Truck valued at $25,000. There is an additional $50,000 in Triton Gold Contingency Money on the line if the winning boater fishes from a Triton Boat and registered in the Triton Gold Program. The Champion Co-Angler will bank $25,000 cash and a $45,000 2017 Triton 19 TRX loaded with a Mercury Marine 200 Pro XS outboard loaded with sponsor products plus a two-year lease of a new RAM Truck valued at $25,000.
Weigh-ins will take place at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville, TN at 3:00pm Today and Saturday with weigh-in Sunday at 2:00pm.
