Harrelson wins inaugural Mississippi event

ATHENS, Ala. – Aaron Harrelson won the inaugural tournament in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, new Mississippi Division 17, held March 2, 2013, on Pickwick Lake.

Running out of J.P. Coleman State Park near Iuka to fish the 47,500-acre lake, the Glen, Miss., angler caught five bass weighing 29.09 pounds. His five-fish tournament limit averaged 5.82 pounds.

In second for the boaters, Will Dupler of Columbus, Miss., brought in a five-bass tournament limit weighing 23.24 pounds. Shawn Perrigo of Rienzi, Miss., followed with five bass and 22.25 pounds.

Jason W. Lambert of Counce, Tenn., took fourth place among the boaters with five bass going 20.64 pounds. He anchored his bag with a 7.50-pounder that won the Boater Division big bass title. Robert “Ike” I. Rogers ll of Madison, Ala., rounded out the top five boaters with five bass at 20.06 pounds.

In the Co-Angler Division, Roger Morrow of Tremont, Miss., won with three bass going 17.03 pounds. He came in with a catch averaging 5.68 pounds.

Gary L. Riles of Potts Camp, Miss., followed in second among the co-anglers with two bass weighing 14.58 pounds for a 7.29-pound average. He anchored his catch with a 9.43-pound lunker that took tournament lunker honors.

Michael T. Marlin of Nesbit, Miss., placed third with a three-bass division limit weighing 14.07 pounds. He anchored his catch with an 8.13-pounder.

Alan Phelps of Collierville, Tenn., placed fourth among the co-anglers with three bass at 12.39 pounds. Les Stracener of West Memphis, Ark., wrapped up the top five co-anglers with three bass and 12.21 pounds.
