By Joe Angelone

19 July 2009 - South Hill, Va - Brandon Gray of Bullock, NC had an impressive 2-day total weight of 32.59 lbs. in the Virginia Division of the Bassmaster Weekend Series, getting him closer to a chance for a slot in the Bassmaster Classic!   Brandon has been fishing Kerr Lake all of his life.  He is married and has a 4 yr old daughter named Sailor Gray who loves to fish off the dock with her daddy.   He caught all of his fish in shallow water on a jig.  Congratulations Brandon!

Second place went to Chris Bullock, of Fountain, NC with a 2-day total weight of 26.75 lbs, while big bass honors went to Jeff Coble with a very nice 6.81 lb. bass.

First place on the co-angler side went to Shane Doughtie of Roanoke Rapids, NC with a 2-day total weight of 13.63 lbs, and Thomas (Eddie) Hogge Jr. of Hayes, VA took second with a total weight of 13.37 lbs.  Big bass honors for the co-anglers went to Randy Ruffin of Virginia Beach, VA with an 4.81 lb. bass.

Congratulations also go to boater Jeff Coble and co-angler David Allen for claiming the division point championships.  Jeff squeaked out the win by merely one point over Brandon Gray.
