Perrigo Takes Victory on Pickwick

Athens, Al - Shawn Perrigo of Reinzi, MS weighed in 5 fish that weighed 21.46 pounds to win the Weekend Bass Series Mississippi event 2014-05-03 on Pickwick.

Shawn said he caught his fish on a Lucky Craft Sammy off gravel points. Ty Cox of Guntown, MS finished second with 21.13 pounds earning $908 for his efforts. Ty caught his fish pitching a Strike King Rage Crawl. Coming in third and earning $602 with the weight of 20.78 pounds is Kyle Worsham. Kyle said he caught his fish using  a Livingston crank bait all day.

Letson wins Co-Angler Title on Pickwick

Athens, Al - Steven Letson of Sheffield, AL weighed in 3 fish that weighed 12.51 pounds to win the Co-Angler division of the Weekend Bass Series Mississippi event on 2014-05-03 on Pickwick.

Steven said he caught his fish using Strike King swim baits. Coming in second with a weight of 10.36 pounds and earning $452 is Nathan Martin of Golden, MS. Nathan caught his fish using a jig in shallow flats of water right next to the river. In third was Matthew Wooten of West Point, MS with a weight of 10.34 pounds and earning $304 for his efforts. Matt caught all of his fish cranking shallow gravel bars on the main lake.

At the end of the season, the best WBS anglers from across the nation will fish the 2014 Ray Scott Championship, slated for Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Ala., from Nov. 12-18.

As a special Ray Scott Championship bonus, the Boater Division and Co-Angler Division champions will each receive entry fees and sponsorship into the one of two professional bass fishing series of the angler’s choice. The sponsorship includes entry fees into three professional events and sponsorship support. This sponsorship will put the champion within striking distance of one of two professional bass fishing championships.

At WBS events throughout the season, boater and co-angler competitors may also win hefty bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, Royal Purple, MotorGuide and T-H Marine. See the manufacturer web sites for specific details on how to qualify for these bonuses.
