The South Carolina Division Goes to Santee Cooper

            South Carolina anglers of the ABA Weekend Bass Series will make their third stop of the year at Santee Cooper Lakes on April 26, 2014.  The event launch and weigh in will take place at John C. Land III (Taw Caw Creek) in Summerton, SC.  Registration for the event will also take place at John C. Land III on Friday, April 25 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm.  More information on the event is available by contacting Tournament Manager Billy Benedetti at (256) 230-5632 or by going to (Link).

Robert Walser of Lexington, NC won the last event on Santee Cooper on March 9, 2013.  Walser had five bass weighing 25.28 pounds that he caught by fishing a jig around cypress trees in the upper lake.  Clyde Whiteside of Forrest City, NC won the co-angler side with three bass weighing 8.69 pounds.  Whiteside caught his fish in Potato Creek on a texas rigged trick worm.

Anglers that finish the season in the top 40 points rankings will have opportunity to advance to the WBS Regional Championship to compete for two new Triton Boats at Lake Chickamauga in Dayton, TN on September 26 and 27, 2014.  Anglers can advance from the WBS Regional Championship to the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, AL November 12 – 15, 2014.
