Tramel Catches Smallies to Win Tennessee Central Event 

            Josh Tramel of Smithville, TN won the Tennessee Central division event of the Weekend Bass Series at Old Hickory on April 12, 2014.  Josh brought 26.92 pounds of smallmouth to the scales to win $2,233 for first place and $249 for his 6.58 pound Big Bass.  Josh didn’t say much other that he caught his limit using an umbrella rig.  John “Bubba” Graves of Mount Juliet, TN finished second with 15.85 pounds earning $1,110 for his efforts.  John caught his fish using a 3/8 ounce Pro Rocker Mean Mouth Lures Jig with a 7’0 MH All Pro rod and 25lb P-Line C21.  Third place and $735 went to Anthony Nash of Quebeck, TN for catching 15.30 pounds on a green jig.

The first place co-angler for the event was Hunter Bouldin of Rock Island, TN.  Hunter caught 11.61 pounds on a War Eagle spinnerbait and a Spot Remover to win $1,078.  Second place went to John Sturdivant of Obion, TN with 9.22 pounds earning him $524 and $117 for his 5.48 pound Big Bass.  John said he used a white spinnerbait with silver blades to secure his catch.  JR Shrum finished out the top three with 9.12 pounds winning $348.  JR caught his bag of fish on a speed craw. The next Tennessee Central event will be at Old Hickory Lake on June 21, 2014 launching from Sanders Ferry in Gallatin, TN.  For more information on the Tennessee Central division of the Weekend Bass Series contact tournament manager Kristin Malott at (256) 771-3709.

Anglers that finish the season in the top 40 points rankings will have opportunity to advance to the WBS Regional Championship to compete for two new Triton Boats at Lake Chickamauga in Dayton, TN on September 26 & 27, 2014.  Anglers can advance from the WBS Regional Championship to the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, AL November 12–15, 2014 to compete for a $100,000 first place boater cash prize and a $50,000 first place co-angler cash prize.  Anglers can also cash in on contingency programs such as Triton Gold, Atlas Awards, Royal Purple Awards, and Mercury/Motorguide bonus money.
