North Carolina Heads to Lake Kerr

North Carolina anglers of the ABA Weekend Bass Series will make their second stop of the year at Lake Kerr on April 19, 2014.  The event launch and weigh in will take place at the Nutbush ramp inside Lake Kerr State Recreation Area.  Registration for the event will take place at the Quality Inn in Henderson, NC on Friday, April 18 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm.  More information on the event is available by contacting Tournament Manager Gary Conner at (256) 230-5627 or going to http://www.americanbassanglers.com/BWS/bws_eventinfo14.php?id=789.

Ron Digh of Denver, NC won the North Carolina division event at Lake Kerr on May 25, 2013.  Ron utilized “dirty water” in the backs of pockets with three to five feet of depth.  He found shad spawning in these areas and used a Chatterbait, jig, and topwater baits to produce a 14.18 pound winning bag of bass.  The co-angler division was won by Lee Grizzard of Middlesex, NC with a 6.40 pound limit.  Lee caught his fish around docks and trees in the backs of pockets using a Chatterbait.

Anglers that finish the season in the top 40 points rankings will have opportunity to advance to the WBS Regional Championship to compete for two new Triton Boats at High Rock Lake in Salisbury, NC on September 26 & 27, 2014.  Anglers can advance from the WBS Regional Championship to the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, AL November 12 – 15, 2014 to compete for a $100,000 first place boater prize and a $50,000 first place co-angler prize.  Anglers can also cash in on contingency programs such as Triton Gold, Atlas Awards, Royal Purple Awards, and Mercury/Motorguide bonus money.  American Bass Anglers, Inc. is supported by Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, Royal Purple Lubricants, Carlisle Tires, Odyssey Batteries, TH Marine, Livingston Lures, Best Western Hotels, Simms Clothing, and North American Fishing Club.  American Bass Anglers, Inc. can be contacted at (256) 232-0406 or visit AmericanBassAnglers.com.
