Samuel Canoe Conquers the Red River  

Samuel Canoe of Dry Prong, LA took first place with 14.88lb at the fourth stop of the Louisiana North division of the Weekend Bass Series on April 5, 2014.  Samuel took home $1560 for his efforts. The event launched from Grand Encore. 

Rounding out the top five boaters were: second place Cody Martin of Goldanna, LA with 13.87lb, third place Thomas McMillan of Choudrant, LA with 13.72lb, fourth place Michael Rogers of Shreveport, LA with 11.69lb, and fifth place Richard Villemarette of Jena, LA with 11.25lb. Big Bass honors also went to Richard Villemarette for a 5.07lb bass.

First place finisher on the co-angler side was Nick Wiggins of Natchitoches, LA with 10.13lb and 4.72lb bass for Big Bass honors.  Nick won $792 with his day’s catch.  Rounding out the top five co-anglers were:  second place Colton Rogers of Shreveport, LA with 8.48lb, third place William Walker of Jena, LA with 8.21lb, fourth place Dillan Poche of Natchez, LA with 6.63lb, and fifth place Duane Pittman of Prairieville, LA with 6.60lb.  Complete results can be found at http://www.americanbassanglers.com/BWS/results/821.pdf.

The next Louisiana North event will take place on July 26 & 27, 2014 on Toledo Bend launching from Cypress Bend.  For more information on the Louisiana North division: contact tournament manager Porter Trimble at (318) 201-3474.

Anglers that finish the season in the top 40 points rankings will have opportunity to advance to the WBS Regional Championship to compete for two new Triton Boats on the Red River in Alexandria, LA on October 10 & 11, 2014.  Anglers can advance from the WBS Regional Championship to the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, AL November 12 – 15, 2014 to compete for a $100,000 first place boater prize and a $50,000 first place co-angler prize.  Anglers can also cash in on contingency programs such as Triton Gold, Atlas Awards, Royal Purple Awards, and Mercury/Motorguide bonus money.  American Bass Anglers, Inc. is supported by Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, Royal Purple Lubricants, Carlisle Tires, Odyssey Batteries, TH Marine, Livingston Lures, Best Western Hotels, Simms Clothing, and North American Fishing Club.  For more information on American Bass Anglers, Inc. call (256) 232-0406 or visit AmericanBassAnglers.com.
