Darrell Craner Wins at Kissimmee Chain

            Darrel Craner of Lakeland, FL won the Florida division Weekend Bass Series event out of Lakefront Park in Kissimmee, FL on April 5, 2014.  Darrel brought 24.98lb to the scales to take home $2,571.  “I was in Kissimmee flipping pads with a beaver with a pop skirt and a ¼ ounce weight”, Darrell said.  He added, “I had eight bites all day”.   

Micah Silverman of Orlando, FL finished second with 23.37lb to earn $1,237.  Micah only stated, “I caught them on a Fluke down south”.  Jeremy D. Smith of Plant City, FL rounded out the top three for third with 19.87lb taking home $866.  Micah said he caught fish on Kissimmee early with a Rat-L-Trap and threw a worm in the afternoon.  Big Bass honors and $307 went to Bobby Johnson of Gainesville, FL. Bobby caught the 8.54lb bass dead-sticking a worm mid-lake.

Daniel Torres of Hains City, FL won first place in the co-angler division with 17.05lb making $1705 for the day along with $137 for Big Bass.  “I had a good guide”, Daniel said.  He caught his fish throwing a Bitter’s Naked Shad in junebug color.  Second place in the co-angler division and a check for $589 went to Eddie Scatturro of Orlando, FL for bringing 11.15lb to the scales.  Eddie caught his fish on a Rat-L-Trap and a speed worm.  Austin Schroeder of Zephyrhills, FL finished third with 10.99 earning $388.  Austin was pitching buggy whips and throwing Senkos in Hatchineha. 

The next Florida division event is at the Harris Chain of Lakes out of Hickory Point Recreational Facility in Taveres, FL.  For more information on the Florida division of the Weekend Bass Series contact tournament director Billy Benedetti at (256) 230-5632.

Anglers that finish the season in the top 40 points rankings will have opportunity to advance to the WBS Regional Championship to compete for two new Triton Boats at Lake Toho in Kissimmee, FL on October 17 & 18, 2014.  Anglers can advance from the WBS Regional Championship to the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, AL November 12 – 15, 2014 to compete for a $100,000 first place boater prize and a $50,000 first place co-angler prize.  Anglers can also cash in on contingency programs such as Triton Gold, Atlas Awards, Royal Purple Awards, and Mercury/Motorguide bonus money.  American Bass Anglers, Inc. is supported by Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, Royal Purple Lubricants, Carlisle Tires, Odyssey Batteries, TH Marine, Livingston Lures, Best Western Hotels, Simms Clothing, and North American Fishing Club.  For more information on American Bass Anglers, Inc. call (256) 232-0406 or visit AmericanBassAnglers.com.
