Field: Angler of the Year (AOY):
The top point holder from each Divisional Championship (by points) who meets the AOY point’s requirement will be invited to complete in the Angler of the Year Final Round.
This is an invitation only event. Anglers qualifying will receive a personal invitation via mail after the completion of Divisional Championship.
1. Only Divisions Angler of the Year will be invited to attend. The points used to determine a division's AOY must be earned within the same division. Divisional AOY points are earned from the best 4 one-day events and the two-day divisional championship within a single division.
2. The Divisional AOY must be National Championshipqualified and have paid an entry into the Championship.
3. Each Divisional AOY is required to provide an observer/rider for the event
4. The Divisional AOY must complete all entry forms and returned them as specified.
Complete event rules will be mailed to each contestant.

The American Fishing Tour Angler of the Year Final Round

The Angler of the Year from each division (based on qualifications) will be invited to compete in the Angler of the Year Final Round. Only the Division's AOY will be invited to compete.

Format: No Entry fee: A one-day practice, one-day tournament
AOY Award: A Triton/Mercury Boat Package
Event Rules: A complete set of rules for this event will be provided to all qualifiers.

Assistance: During the off limits period and practice, other than using publicly-available information (e.g. newspaper and Internet reports) AOY competitors cannot solicit, receive, or gather any information via phone, electronic devices, or any other means about locating or catching fish on tournament waters. THERE SHALL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.
License Required: South Carolina Fishing License
Practice: During official practice qualifiers may have ABA approved observers in the boat. Observers are allowed and can fish but only if these observers are not providing information dealing with locating or catching bass. All observers must be approved by ABA and each observer will be required to sign a liability waiver.

Event: Qualifiers and their observers will launch at safe daylight. At 3pm the anglers will be trailered and weighed in at Dreher Island State Park. Each qualifier will provide one rider/observer for the day of the final round event.
Observer/Rider Requirement? Anyone that meets the ABA American Fishing Tour tournament requirements and has not been on the tournament waters during the Off Limits period.

2011 Angler of the Year Championship

All 2011 AFT tournament rules apply, these are additional items
RULE CHANGES: These rules will remain unchanged throughout the 2011 Angler of the Year Championship. Interpretation of these rules shall be left exclusively to the tournament director. In the event of a rule violation, the tournament director may impose such sanctions, as deemed appropriate; including, without limitation, disqualification, forfeiture of prizes, forfeiture of entry fee and prohibition from participation in subsequent tournaments. The decision of the tournament director shall be final in all matters. Protests for any rule infraction must be made in writing within 15 minutes of the official announcement, “the scales are now closed”. All American Bass Anglers, Inc, American Fishing Tour 2011 Season Rules apply and are supplemented below.
PARTICIPANTS AND ELIGIBILITY: Amended to include; this event is by invitation only for anglers who have earned points within a single division to capture the title of Divisional Angler of the Year. Points may not be transferred between Divisions.
PRE-TOURNAMENT PRACTICE/OFF-LIMITS: Amended to include; Lake Greenwood is off limits from sunset July 23, 2011 until safe light October 21, 2011. ON SITE REGISTRATION: Friday October 21, 2011 from 4:30pm – 5:00pm at Lake Murray Country, Visitors Center-2184 North Lake Dr. Columbia, SC 29212. Failure to register will result in disqualification.
PERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS; Lake Greenwood is designated as the Official Tournament waters for the 2011 Angler of the Year Championship.
SIZE LIMIT: Minimum length will be 12 inches (measured on a flat board). Standard penalties will apply.
TOURNAMENT WEIGH-IN: Anglers will travel from launch site with escort to Dreher Island State Park . Special instructions will be given at registration meeting by tournament director.
MANDATORY BRIEFING: There will be a MANDATORY briefing for all contestants and observers, October 21, 2011 at 5pm Lake Murray Country, Visitors Center-2184 North Lake Dr. Columbia, SC 29212.
