Rich Falcon Wins New York AOY and Divisional Title

Rich Falcon dominated the competition at the New York 2-day Divisional on Lakes Wynetta and Lamoka. Averaging 3 pounds a fish, Rich bested his closest competitor by over 17 pounds.

This decisive win earned Rich 2014 Angler of the Year Honors. Going into the event Rich was tied in the overall AOY points with Don Tripoli. Both needing a great finish to win the AOY honors, each one fished different techniques and water depths. Rich fished a dock pattern where he located larger fish which replenished throughout the competition.

Don, finishing in second place with 18.77 pounds, fished the outside edge of weed lines. The first day of the competition ended with Rich in first place with a total of over 14 pounds anchored by a 3.77 lb largemouth. This placed him 2 lbs ahead of eventual 3rd place winner Mike Higgins and 6 lbs ahead of Don.

The second day found two other tournaments being held on the very limited water. Rich excelled through the congested docks and weighed an outstanding limit of 16.62 with a 4.66 lunker. All the competitors knew the lure Rich used for the win (a Jig). Rich said it was the way he fished it that made the difference in the size of his limits. This completes the 2014 New York Division 4 schedule.
