Merrick Wins Tennessee Central Two Day

Athens, Al - William weighed in 10 fish that weighed 33.55 pounds to win the Weekend Bass Series TN Central event 2014-08-23 on Paris Landing.

William "Bill" Merrick of Mt. Juliet, TN won the final event of the 2014 season for the Tenessee Central Division on Kentucky Lake in Paris, TN.  Merrick brought in a two day total of 33.55 pounds to take first place and win $2838. He said that he used  a jig and swimbaits for the win.

Bill Smith of Smithville, TN fnishd second with a two day total of 30.51 pounds.  Bell caught his fish off f ledges using a green pumpkin jig and plum colored worms.

Third place went to Brandon Eddings of La Verne, TN for bringing in 30.30 pounds over the two day event. Eddigs caught his fish in deeper water dragging a jig.

The Boater Big Bass was caught by: William Merrick 6.98 pounds

Josh Tramel of Smithville, TN won the AOY points race for the boater side of the Tennessee Central divsion 2014 season.  Tramel accumulated 1453 points over five events. Some of his ponts were due to a win earlier in the year at Old Hickory Lake.

At the end of the season, the best WBS anglers from across the nation will fish the 2014 Ray Scott Championship, slated for Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Ala., from Nov. 12-18.

As a special Ray Scott Championship bonus, the Boater Division and Co-Angler Division champions will each receive entry fees and sponsorship into the one of two professional bass fishing series of the angler’s choice. The sponsorship includes entry fees into three professional events and sponsorship support. This sponsorship will put the champion within striking distance of one of two professional bass fishing championships.
