Vann Takes Co-Angler Title at Guntersville Two Day

Athens, Al - Keith Vann of Cedartown, GA weighed in 5 fish that weighed 19.38 pounds to win the Co-Angler division of the Weekend Bass Series Alabama North event on 2014-08-16 on Guntersville.

Keith Vann  of Cedartown, GA won the co-angler division of the Alabama North two day event at Lake Guntersville with a two day total of 19.38 pounds.  Vann only brought in 6.61 pounds on day one, but he brought in 12.77 pounds on day two to take the lead. "I caught my fish using a Talon Football Jig flipping grass and I also used a deep diving crankbait in 20 ft of water," said Vann.

Coming in second was Roy Yother of Red Bank, TN.  Roy caught a total of 4 fish that weighed 18.50 pounds. He caught his fish using a Carolina rigged green pumpkin worm.

Placing third was Chris Long of Decherd, TN. Chris caught a total of 6 fish that weighed 18.13 pounds. Chris said he caught his fish in 10 feet of water with a black/blue jig and a June Bug Ol’Monster Worm.

The co-angler AOY title for the Alabama North division went to James "Lewis" LeCroy of Alexandria, AL.  LeCoy accumulated 1431 points during the 2014 season to end up on top of the AOY points race.

At the end of the season, the best WBS anglers from across the nation will fish the 2014 Ray Scott Championship, slated for Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Ala., from Nov. 12-18.

As a special Ray Scott Championship bonus, the Boater Division and Co-Angler Division champions will each receive entry fees and sponsorship into the one of two professional bass fishing series of the angler’s choice. The sponsorship includes entry fees into three professional events and sponsorship support. This sponsorship will put the champion within striking distance of one of two professional bass fishing championships.
