Chris King Comes From Behind to Win at Erie

Athens, Al - Chris King of South Amherst, OH weighed in 9 fish that weighed 33.07 pounds to win the Weekend Bass Series Ohio event 2014-08-16 on Erie.

After the winds kept Chris King from getting to his fish on day one he was relieved to see the wind lay down for day 2 on Lake Erie.  "I live on the south shore of the lake and consider it my home waters.  Since the high winds kept me from getting to my desired fish on Saturday I decided to concentrate on waters close to home.  That proved to be a struggle and I was only able to catch four fish on the first day."  After his first day weight of 11.85 pounds found Chris in seventh place, he was glad to see that he could get to Canadian waters for the second day.  "I made the run today and was able to put together the 21.22 pounds that was required to get the win.  All of my fish both days came on a drop shot pattern working rock piles and drop offs.  I really want to thank my dear wife for supporting my fishing, she has been instrumental in my success."

Rounding out the top 10 boaters were:

1 Chris D. King 9 33.07 500 $1725
2 Dave M. Davenport 10 32.50 498 $ 768
