Rigdon Takes The Win at Kissimmee Chain 2-Day

Athens, Al - Fred Rigdon of Belleview, FL weighed in 10 fish that weighed 38.97 pounds to win the Weekend Bass Series Florida event 2014-08-16 on Kissimmee Chain.

On day 1, Fred Rigdon was in second place with 19.88 lbs. He had a 7.48 pound gap to overcome between him and Micah Silverman.  Silverman weighed in 27.36 lbs on day one with an 8.82 lb and an 8.02 lb kickers and had a commanding lead but on day 2, Silverman only had 10.95 lbs with no kickers to go with his catch.  Rigdon had a solid sack again on day 2 of 19.09 lbs to take the lead and was able to hold on despite several 20+ lb sacks being brought in.  " I caught my fish on a Devils Horse. I started out in the morning throwing it and picked it up later in the day in the same area and culled everything I caught earlier in the day.The biggest difference from day 1 to day 2 was clouds. The bigger fish bit better yesterday but around 1:30pm today I was able to cull with some better fish. " said Rigdon.

At the end of the season, the best WBS anglers from across the nation will fish the 2014 Ray Scott Championship, slated for Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Ala., from Nov. 12-18.

As a special Ray Scott Championship bonus, the Boater Division and Co-Angler Division champions will each receive entry fees and sponsorship into the one of two professional bass fishing series of the angler’s choice. The sponsorship includes entry fees into three professional events and sponsorship support. This sponsorship will put the champion within striking distance of one of two professional bass fishing championships.
