Bosch Takes Lead at New Johns Lake

Cory Bosch of Bismarck took the lead in North Dakota Division 127 of the American Fishing Tour with an impressive 11.39 pounds for his three fish limit at New Johns this past Saturday. This included a 4.11 pounds smallmouth bass to also claim the big bass award. Cory took home $245 and the championship plaque for his work.
Cory caught most of his bass using a white buzz frog in the slop on the west cannel of New Johns Lake. Cory commented, "The big bass were under the slop and matted weeds next to the shore, the top water bite was great."
Second place went to Cody Arth also of Bismarck with a 9.13 pound bag caught on a tube jig in Old Ugly color from Dry Creek baits, followed by Dick Roland of Crosby with 8.24 pounds, and Todd Keena of Baldwin with 6.5 pounds at fourth place.
The last regular tournament of the season is scheduled for August 23 at Lake Audubon and ending with the season with a two day championship on Lake Sakakawea on September 13 and 14.

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship for this fall on Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, TN.
