Misty Lewis and Rusty Satterfield Flip Their Way to the Win

Couples arrived early for the last Division 9 tournament of the year. Conversations about fishing woke up everyone to the excitement ahead. Eight teams blasted off from Poplar Springs Ramp. 
The fish were drawn to the jigs being flipped by Misty Lewis and Rusty Satterfield. As a result, the team earned a solid first place finish and were awarded $360. Congraulations!
Extremely close second place went to Heather and Jason Ashley with 8.90 pounds. They earned $240. Heather also won Lady's Big Fish with a nice 3.57 pound bass increasing her winnings by $40.  

The top 5 teams were:

  1. Misty Lewis and Rusty Satterfield with 8.93 Lbs.
  2. Heather and Jason Ashley with 8.90 Lbs.
  3. Bonnie and Shannon Johnson with 7.09 Lbs.
  4. Brenda and David Presley with 3.68 Lbs.
  5. Leslie and Andrew Presley with 1.90 Lbs.

Gentlemen's Big Bass: Men's Big Fish was landed by Shannon Johnson. It weighed 2.73 pounds and Shannon received $40.00.

Ladies Big Bass: Heather also won Lady's Big Fish with a nice 3.57 pound bass increasing her winnings by $40.

All ABA American Couples Series events involve a team format with each team composed of one man and one woman. Although many married couples compete together as teams, some teams consist of boyfriend and girlfriend combinations, parent-child combinations or just two friends. Contestants between 14 and 18 years old may participate with a parent’s written permission.

The top angling couples from across the nation earn the right to compete in the annual American Bass Anglers Couples Series National Championship tournament.
