Powers Takes Victory at Kentucky Lake

Craig Powers of Harriman, TN weighed in 5 fish that weighed 22.98 pounds to win the Weekend Bass Series Kentucky event 2014-07-12 on Paris Landing .
 

Craig stated he caught his winning sack with a swimbait.  Todd Ruth, of Waverly, TN came in second. Todd stated that he used a spook to catch 22.76 pounds.  Todd walked away with $957 for his efforts.  Third place went to Brent Anderson, of Kingston Springs, KY.  Brent earned $635 by using a stripe king spinner bait to catch a 22.14 pound sack.

Gunter Wins Co-Angler Title on Kentucky Lake

EJ Gunter of Bon Aqua, TN weighed in 3 fish that weighed 15.69 pounds to win the Co-Angler division of the Weekend Bass Series Kentucky event on 2014-07-12 on Paris Landing .
 

EJ won his winning sack and big bass using a wobble head football jig with a 10 inch worm.  David Carroll of Manitou, KY came in second place earning $478. David used a peanut butter & jelly color jig dragging the bottom of the lake. Coming in third was Robby Hand of Clarksville, TN. Robby caught his fish by fishing on ledges throwing a jig and earning $318 for the day.

At the end of the season, the best WBS anglers from across the nation will fish the 2014 Ray Scott Championship, slated for Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Ala., from Nov. 12-18.

As a special Ray Scott Championship bonus, the Boater Division and Co-Angler Division champions will each receive entry fees and sponsorship into the one of two professional bass fishing series of the angler’s choice. The sponsorship includes entry fees into three professional events and sponsorship support. This sponsorship will put the champion within striking distance of one of two professional bass fishing championships.

At WBS events throughout the season, boater and co-angler competitors may also win hefty bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, Royal Purple, MotorGuide and T-H Marine. See the manufacturer web sites for specific details on how to qualify for these bonuses.
