Greg Horne, Jr Takes the Win on South Watuppa
From Division 5, New England East, on July 6th, 2014, Greg Horne, Jr. of Mansfield, MA won the American Fishing Tour Massachusetts - New England division 5 tournament with five fish weighing 11.95 pounds held on South Watuppa on 07/06/2014.
Second place went to Deron Nicholas who weighed in a limit at 10.64 pounds. Third place was Eli Delany with a weight of 10.60 pounds.
Greg's pattern was to go to his favorite spots, where he caught some fish in 3-4 feet of water with a tube & then with a Bionic Custom Buzz bait. He had his limit by 8:30 AM, culled out three fish & spent the rest of the day looking for a kicker fish. With Hurricane Arthur leaving a high pressure front, the big fish seemed to scattered as most of the fish weighed in were of the 2-3 pound range.

Division 5's will be our two-day Divisional Championship. Day 1 on August 2, 2014 will be contested on South Watuppa Pond at Fall River, MA. Day 2 on August 3rd, 2014 will be contested on Long Pond in Freetown, MA

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship for this fall on Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, TN.
