Ohio Heads to Mosquito Lake
Ohio anglers of the ABA Weekend Bass Series will make their fourth stop of the year at the Mosquito Lake on July 12th, 2014. The event launch and weigh in will take place at Mosquito Lake State Park. Registration for the event will also take place at Mosquito Lake State Park on Friday, July 11th from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. Tim E. Partin of Sprinboro, OH won last year’s Ohio division event at Mosquito Lake. Partin had an 8.48 pound limit for the win that he caught in shallow water on a swim jig. The co-angler side of that event was won by Jeff Kuhar of Bridgeport, OH. Kuhar caught a 5.96 pound limit on a Texas rigged French fry worm. Entry fees for ABA Weekend Bass Series one-day events are $200 for boaters and $100 for co-anglers. Weekend Bass Series events are open to all ABA members. ABA membership dues are $25 per year and include a new member gift packet along with a subscription to American Bass Anglers magazine.
Anglers that finish the season in the top 40 points rankings will have opportunity to advance to the WBS Regional Championship to compete for two new Triton Boats at High Rock Lake in Salisbury, NC on September 26 and 27, 2014. Anglers can advance from the WBS Regional Championship to the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, AL November 12 – 15, 2014 to compete for a $100,000 first place boater prize and a $50,000 first place co-angler prize.
Anglers can also cash in on contingency programs such as Triton Gold, Atlas Awards, Royal Purple Awards, and Mercury/Motorguide bonus money.
