Back to the Potomac for Maryland
Virginia anglers of the ABA Weekend Bass Series will make their second stop of the year at the Potomac on June 28, 2014. The event launch and weigh in will take place at Smallwood State Park in Marbury, MD. Registration for the event will also take place at Smallwood State Park on Friday, June 27 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. A Weekend Bass Series event held at the Potomac on June 22, 2013 was won by Otis Darnell of Linden, VA. Darnell caught 16.72 by throwing a plastic craw to take the win. Jermell Fleming of Harrisburg, PA won the co-angler side of that event with 9.98 pounds. More information on last year’s event can be found at this link.

Entry fees for ABA Weekend Bass Series one-day events are $200 for boaters and $100 for co-anglers. Weekend Bass Series events are open to all ABA members. Memberships may be purchased onsite at tournament registration, by calling ABA at (256) 232-0406, or by going to www.americanbassanglers.com. ABA membership dues are $25 per year and include a new member gift packet along with a subscription to American Bass Anglers magazine.
Anglers that finish the season in the top 40 points rankings will have opportunity to advance to the WBS Regional Championship to compete for two new Triton Boats at High Rock Lake in Salisbury, NC on September 26 and 27, 2014. Anglers can advance from the WBS Regional Championship to the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, AL November 12 – 15, 2014 to compete for a $100,000 first place boater prize and a $50,000 first place co-angler prize.
Anglers can also cash in on contingency programs such as Triton Gold, Atlas Awards, Royal Purple Awards, and Mercury/Motorguide bonus money.
