Garry Bittenbender Whacks'em in Division 30 two day Championship
Athens, Al - Garry Bittenbender won the American Fishing Tour Tennessee South East division 30 tournament with 10 fish for 40.19 pounds (two-day total) held on Chickamauga on 06/21/2014.
On day one Garry's 5 bass limit weighed in at 19.63 lbs and his day two limit weighed in at 20.56 lbs giving him a total of 40.19 lbs. Garry showed great versatility from the first to the second day by catching his fish on deep off shore structure on day one only to return to the same area on day two and finding that these fish had left the area, he quickly shifted gears and went shallow flipping a creature bait around shallow cover and docks topping his day one total and bringing in the tournament big fish at 7.95 lbs.
Garry's fish were caught on off shore structure using a jig and Carolina Rigged soft plastics on day one. On day two Garry's fish were caught flipping a creature bait around shallow cover and docks
Second place went to Gabe Yeargan with a weight of 20.23 lbs, third place was Cliff Thomas with a weight of 12.58 lbs. Heading into this tournament there was a four horse race for the divisional AOY with Sam Morgan holding a narrow one point lead over Mark Riggs, Gabe Yeargan and Gary Carter was third and fourth with only five points separating first to fourth. Unfortunately Riggs was unable to fish so this left Morgan, Yeargan and Carter to battle for the divisional AOY. As for now it appears that there is a tie between Morgan and Yeargan that will be determined in a fish off sometime within the next two weeks to crown the division 30 AOY.
