Tennessee Central Makes Second Trip to Old Hickory
Tennessee Central anglers of the ABA Weekend Bass Series will make end their regular season at Old Hickory Lake on June 21, 2014. The event launch and weigh in will take place at Sanders Ferry Park. Registration for the event will take place at the Gallatin Civic Center on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. John “Bubba” Graves of Mt. Juliet, TN won a Weekend Series event at Old Hickory on July 27, 2013. Graves brought in 17.95 pounds along with the 5.38 pound Big Bass to take the win. He caught his winning limit on the lower end of the lake fishing drops with big worms and roostertails.
Andrew “A.J.” Harvey of Bethpage, TN won the Co-angler side of that July 27 event with 9.47 pounds and he had the 5.21 pound Big Bass for the co-angler division. Harvey caught his fish flipping a jig. More information on the July 27, 2013 event can be found at this link.
Entry fees for ABA Weekend Bass Series one-day events are $200 for boaters and $100 for co-anglers. Weekend Bass Series events are open to all ABA members. Memberships may be purchased onsite at tournament registration, by calling ABA at (256) 232-0406, or by going to www.americanbassanglers.com. ABA membership dues are $25 per year and include a new member gift packet along with a subscription to American Bass Anglers magazine.
Anglers that finish the season in the top 40 points rankings will have opportunity to advance to the WBS Regional Championship to compete for two new Triton Boats at Lake Chickamauga in Dayton, TN on September 26 and 27, 2014. Anglers can advance from the WBS Regional Championship to the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, AL November 12 – 15, 2014 to compete for a $100,000 first place boater prize and a $50,000 first place co-angler prize.
Anglers can also cash in on contingency programs such as Triton Gold, Atlas Awards, Royal Purple Royal Treatment, and Mercury/Motorguide bonus money.
