Brian Gunn Wins D94 Tournament on Savannah River
Gunn, is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a first place win and earned a total of $449 in the American Fishing Tournament for the 2014 season held on the Savannah River this past weekend. Gunn weighed in five bass limit, which weighed 10.08 pounds.
Second place went to Curtis Sanders with a five bass limit weighing 8.16 pounds. Third went to Joe McDonie with five bass weighing in at 8.02 pounds. In fourth place was Mike Holloway with three bass weighing 7.17 pounds. And fifth place went to Jerry Fowler with four bass weighing 5.79 pounds.
William Sampey captured the tournament big bass, weighing 3.69 pounds.
At launch time the temperatures were in the low 70's with clear skies. The day continued with temperatures topping out in the low 90's. Water temperatures were in the low to upper 70's.
The bait of the day was plastic, with some spinnerbait action. The anglers reported fishing mainly in the oxbows and the main river.
The next tournament in division 94 will be the two day championship scheduled for Sept 20th and 21st out of Milstone Landing & Stokes Bluff.
