Alabama South Heads to Logan Martin
Alabama South anglers of the ABA Weekend Bass Series will make their fourth stop of the year at Logan Martin Lake on June 14, 2014. The event launch and weigh in will take place at Lakeside Park. Registration for the event will also take place at the Pell City Civic Center on June 13, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. Kyle Dorsett of Odenville, AL won last year’s Logan Martin event on June 29, 2013. Dorsett won that event with a 16.62 pound limit that he caught on a deep crankbait. Hulan Mattox of Alexander City, AL won the co-angler side of that event with a 10.19 pounds he caught on a shakey head. More information on last year’s Logan Martin event can be found at this link.
Weekend Bass Series events are open to all ABA members. Memberships may be purchased onsite at tournament registration, by calling ABA at (256) 232-0406, or by going to www.americanbassanglers.com. ABA membership dues are $25 per year and include a new member gift packet along with a subscription to American Bass Anglers magazine.
Anglers that finish the season in the top 40 points rankings will have opportunity to advance to the WBS Regional Championship to compete for two new Triton Boats at Lake Toho in Kissimmee, FL on October 17 & 18, 2014. Anglers can advance from the WBS Regional Championship to the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, AL November 12 – 15, 2014 to compete for a $100,000 first place boater prize and a $50,000 first place co-angler prize.
Anglers can also cash in on contingency programs such as Triton Gold, Atlas Awards, Royal Purple Awards, and Mercury/Motorguide bonus money.
