Ryan Stumpf Flips to Alum Creek Victory

Athens, Al - Ryan Stumpf of Johnstown, Ohio weighed in 5 fish weighing 10.94 pounds to win the Weekend Bass Series Ohio event 2014-06-07 on Alum Creek.

Ryan Stumpf was able to put together patterns for both smallmouth and largemouth bass to take the win on Alum Creek Reservoir.  The 40 year old Johnstown, Ohio angler said he only lives 15 minutes from the lake and considers it his home waters.  Ryan said "After a good practice I decided to target smallmouth early in the morning, but found the size of the fish to be less than desireable, so I went to flipping for largemouth.  I knew there were quality largemouth hanging in treetops on main lake points.  Most of my fish were on wood in shallow waters from zero to four feet deep.  I probably caught 25 keepers throughout the day.  I need to thank my co-angler Brett Warrick who went halfway underwater to lip one fish that was around a branch.  Not too much later I had one suspended two feet in the air over another piece of cover just out of reach.  Brett went the extra mile to get the net under that fish.  Without his efforts there might be someone else in the winner's circle."

Rounding out the top 10 boaters were:

1 Ryan Stumpf 5 10.94 250 $1276
2 David J. Dudley 5 10.67 249 $ 727
3 Casey T. Hay 5 9.15 248 $ 415
