Ohio Anglers Head to Alum Creek
Ohio anglers of the ABA Weekend Bass Series will make their third stop of the year at Alum Creek on June 7, 2014. The event launch and weigh in will take place at New Gelena Landing in Gelena, OH. Registration for the event will also take place at New Gelena Landing on Friday, June 6th from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. Dave Davenport of Milford, OH won last year’s event at Alum Creek on May 4, 2013. Davenport brought in a 9.14 pound limit that he caught flipping Berkley Chigger Craw and throwing a 3/8 ounce Lucky craft spinnerbait. Brian G. Kich of Berea, OH won the co-angler division of that event with a 3.48 pound limit. Kich caught his limit on a Yum Dinger, a swimbait, and a drop shot rig. Entry fees for ABA Weekend Bass Series one-day events are $200 for boaters and $100 for co-anglers. Weekend Bass Series events are open to all ABA members. ABA membership dues are $25 per year and include a new member gift packet along with a subscription to American Bass Anglers magazine.
Anglers that finish the season in the top 40 points rankings will have opportunity to advance to the WBS Regional Championship to compete for two new Triton Boats at High Rock Lake in Salisbury, NC on September 26 and 27, 2014. Anglers can advance from the WBS Regional Championship to the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, AL November 12 – 15, 2014 to compete for a $100,000 first place boater prize and a $50,000 first place co-angler prize.
Anglers can also cash in on contingency programs such as Triton Gold, Atlas Awards, Royal Purple Awards, and Mercury/Motorguide bonus money.
