The 15th Annual Triton Owner's Tournament Set to Start Friday Morning
The 2014 and 15th annual Triton Boat Owner’s Tournament is set to begin Friday Morning on Kentucky Lake out of Paris, TN. The field is over 300 boats again and the weather seems perfect for a big Kentucky Lake bite.
There will be 338 Triton boats taking off from Paris Landing State Park Marina on Friday morning at safe light. Weigh-in will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
"We at Triton Boats are overjoyed at the number of loyal Triton owners that are attending this year's Triton Owner's Tournament. The people of Paris, TN always help to make this a great event for our Triton owners. I look forward to visiting with each and every Triton owner over the next few days," said Earl Bentz, Triton Boats CEO.
Kentucky Lake spreads over 160,300 acres and runs 84 miles along the Tennessee River, creating more than 2,400 miles of shoreline. It connects to the 57,900-acre Lake Barkley on the Cumberland River. Lake Barkley offers anglers about 1,004 miles of shoreline. If flattened into a straight line, the combined shoreline from the two lakes and associated waters would stretch almost from Boston to San Francisco.
In 2013 David Gnewikow and Jason Sain beat more than 300 other teams to win the 14th annual Triton Owners Tournament.
Running out of Paris Landing State Park to fish the massive system, Gnewikow and Sain finished with a perfect two-day tournament limit weighing 44.10 pounds for a 4.41-pound average. For the win, they took home $7,500 in cash and a set of Carlisle trailer tires.
Fishing south of Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake, Gnewikow and Sain returned to the landing with 21.27 pounds to hold sixth place on the first day of competition. They caught fish on various lures including crankbaits and soft plastics.
