Kevin Fulmer of Prosperity, SC won the American Fishing Tour, presented by American Bass Anglers, South Carolina Division 96 2-day qualifier tournament, held May 17-18, 2014, on Lake Murray, running out of Dreher Island State Park near Prosperity, South Carolina.

16 anglers fished this Lake Murray two-day divisional tournament. Beginning on Saturday, it started out at 48 degrees and ended with the 3:00 pm weigh-in at 80 degrees. It stayed mostly sunny all day with a wind out of the SW at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday started out with light rain and 57 degrees with the 3:00 pm weigh-in at 67 degrees. The light rain continued off and on the entire day with a light wind out of the NE. Water temp averaged in the upper 60s to lower 70s. The main lake was clear but it was a little stained in the rivers and creeks. Lake Murray is a blueback herring lake and we are at the later stage of that bite.

He brought in 18.57 pounds on day one taking the lead and brought in the heaviest sack again on day two at 21.25 pounds for the win. He took first place both days in the option pot. Kevin fished the middle & lower parts of the lake and caught his fish on jigs and topwater with jigs doing most of the heavy work for him winning a total of $1,080.

In second place was Joey Sabbagha of Little Mountain, SC with ten fish at 34.17 pounds that included the day two big fish at 5.35 pounds. Joey caught all his fish on topwater and started in the middle part of the lake and worked his way to the lower end.
