Rodney Spencer Goes Shallow to Win at Indian Lake

Athens, Al - Rodney Spencer of Waynesfield, Oh. weighed in 5 fish weighing 10.02 pounds to win the Weekend Bass Series Ohio event 2014-05-10 on Indian.

Rodney considers Indian Lake his home lake, and fishes it several days a week, when possible.  Having found fish in practice he went back to them flipping super shallow to catch nine keeper fish, the best five of which weighed 10.02 pounds.  His baits of choice were black Berkeley Power Lizards and Warrior tubes in a color he preferred not to mention.  The win netted him first place money of $1462.

Bryan Hofstetter takes Co-Angler Win

Athens, Al - Bryan Hofstetter of Ft. Jennings, Oh. weighed in 3 fish weighing 6.42 Pounds to win the Co-Angler division of the Weekend Bass Series Ohio event on 2014-05-10 on Indian.

Bryan Hofstetter lives just an hour from Indian Lake and has fished there numerous times over the past years.  Unable to practice for this event he relied on what he learned a couple weeks back to put together three bass weighing 6.42 pounds.  All of his fish fed on Chatter Baits on grass covered points.  Bryan said he was fortunate since his three fish limit came on the only three bites he got all day.

The Co-Angler Big Bass was caught by: 16 year old Brock Spencer caught the co-angler big bass of 3.47 pounds.

At the end of the season, the best WBS anglers from across the nation will fish the 2014 Ray Scott Championship, slated for Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Ala., from Nov. 12-18.

As a special Ray Scott Championship bonus, the Boater Division and Co-Angler Division champions will each receive entry fees and sponsorship into the one of two professional bass fishing series of the angler’s choice. The sponsorship includes entry fees into three professional events and sponsorship support. This sponsorship will put the champion within striking distance of one of two professional bass fishing championships.
